Going on vacation to any spot in Florida can be an exciting family vacation; however there is just something very special about visiting Key West. If you are planning on visiting this destination then you are surely in the right place.
This is such a commercial little place in florida that millions of tourists visit the Keys every year; this is the reason that you should know a little something about the Key West attractions before you go.

If you have ever visited Key West then you are well aware of how crowded it can be. Getting around by car can be a headache and that is the reason that so many people choose to travel around by riding a bike or a moped. There are several places that rent both bicycles and mopeds so you may want to consider getting one to help get around quicker and easier.

Once you have your moped or bicycle do not forget to get a map or some type of directory of Key West that will point out some Key West attractions that you must see. We have taken the time to list some of the most popular ones below.

Key West Aquarium

If you have children or just enjoy looking at exotic underwater creatures then you will love this aquarium. This aquarium is one of the oldest attractions on the island and is very popular among the tourists.

The price of admission to visit the aquarium will cost you $10 per adults and $5 per child. Prices are subject to change so you may want to call in advance to find out if they have raised the prices. If you are a tourist and planning on visiting it; do not forget to find out if their are some type of discounts for tourists; you may be surprised at some of them that you can find.

Earnest Hemmingway Home

Earnest Hemmingway’s Spanish Colonial home that was built in 1851 is a huge tourist attraction. This tour will take about 30 minutes and you will see all the artifacts and every room in the home. Admission prices will vary and you should call ahead to ensure that it fits in your budget.

Getting away after a long cold winter can be an exciting adventure and many people usually end up going to some place warm. Most likely if you have landed on this site then you may be planning a trip to the Key West beaches. You are not alone; millions of people travel to Florida each and every year and it seems that most of them will find themselves visiting Key West.

The Key West beaches are concentrated on the south side of the island which faces the Atlantic Ocean. the big long stretch of road that travels down the some of the largest beaches in Key West is called South Roosevelt Boulevard. Don’t expect to get from one end of the island quickly; in fact during the summer months chances are you will not be able to travel very quickly.

When you drive down South Roosevelt Boulevard you will find yourself heading towards Higgs beach and Smathers Beach. Both beaches are known for their easy parking and easy access to the beaches. Once on the beach you will find yourself staring at some of the most beautiful palm trees you will think that you are in a dream.

There are signs all over that will tell you where to park and when you have to leave the parking area. One thing to remember is that no overnight parking is allowed and they do enforce those rules so be sure that you read the signs if you do not want your vehicle towed.

Both of these beaches are free to the public this is what makes them so popular. If you want to do a little bit of sightseeing on your way to the beach then you may want to consider visiting the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Historical Park which is on the southern edge of the island as well; but sits on the western south end tip of the island.

If you do visit this beach then you better be prepared to pay a fee before you enter. If you want to avoid the fee then you can consider renting a bike and taking it into the park area.

No matter what type of beach vacation you are planning on taking with your family you do not want to forget about the beautiful and relaxing Key West Beaches!
